Description
When using sync from the backstage of a tiddlywiki downloaded from a tiddlyweb server (more details below), pressing the sync button gives no visual feedback that action is underway or has been completed.
This leads to one of several paths of confusion, for which I've not been able to suss out any cause/effect:
* sometimes tiddlers will loose the value of their server.workspace field * sometimes removing the sync backstage and then starting it back up again will result in <<error in macro sync>>
These things, are, of course, because you know how could it be otherwise, hard to replicate in any straightforward manor, thus it seems like an entry point to address these problems is to start with the first problem: The lack of feedback during sync. I recall from Socialtext Unplugged that feedback is possible.
To test things yourself:
* Have a look at wiki at http://hoster.peermore.com/recipes/cjd-synctest/tiddlers.wiki * Then download that wiki to local disk with http://hoster.peermore.com/recipes/cjd-synctest/tiddlers.wiki?download=synctest.hml * open synctest.html as a file:// url * make some changes to existing and new tiddlers * choose sync from the backstage, click the sync button
What happens? Very hard to say.
Once this situation is better, then it will be easier to address strange situations.
